Criminal Charges Against Teacher Dropped, No Record

A 30-year-old Pittsburgh teacher at a private Catholic school came to Worgul, Sarna & Ness, Criminal Defense Attorneys for help in a classroom case. The teacher disciplined his students with a tap on the cheek given by another student in the classroom. One day a student made a mistake and the kid next to him was asked by the teacher to gently hit his cheek. The student said he did not want to hit him. The teacher instructed each and every student in the classroom to then tap this child on his cheek. One of the students hit him too hard and ended up hurting the boy.

At this point, criminal charges were being considered against the teacher. The teacher contacted Pittsburgh criminal defense attorneys and Samir Sarna represented the man. Sarna knew a criminal charge on his record would forever hurt his professional teaching career. He then spoke to the district attorney and a City of Pittsburgh detective. It was difficult for the government to prove this case. About two months later, the detective called Sarna and said they were not going to move forward with the charges against our client. This was great news for the teacher as he and would not have any charges against him on his record.
