Man Charged With Possession of Firearm, Released From Jail

Our Pittsburgh client was charged with possession of firearm and carrying a firearm without a license. Facing three to six years in jail, this was a serious offense. The 19-year-old man had been in jail for nine months when he called Worgul, Sarna & Ness, Criminal Defense Attorneys, LLC. He was waiting to go through trial. Our law firm took the case half way into the process. Unfortunately, we were unable to get the benefit of going through the preliminary hearing.

We looked at his case and immediately saw issues. While in court, attorney Mike Worgul filed a motion to suppress the evidence alleging that police had violated his rights. The district attorney agreed. If our client pleaded guilty he would get time served for the amount of time he has already been in jail with no further penalties. Pleading guilty to these charges, he was released from jail right away.
