Man In Jail Receives Furlough To See Birth of His Child

Recently a unique case came to our office. A Pittsburgh man in his late 20s was currently serving a sentence in jail for drug use. His wife was scheduled to have their baby soon. Although he was behind bars, he wanted to be present for the birth.

With the man’s best interest on his side, Pittsburgh criminal defense attorney Mike Worgul went in front of one of the tougher judges to grant him temporary furlough during this momentous occasion. He presented letters from different sources and program certificates for various courses he completed while in prison. The judge then granted him 48 hours temporary furlough from the time his wife went into labor. Our client was grateful for the opportunity to see the birth of his child.

The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
