Drug Charges Dropped in Allegheny County
Our client faced serious accusations involving the receipt of a large parcel of cocaine delivered through the mail. Despite not being listed as the recipient, the authorities charged our client after another occupant of the residence accepted the package at the door.
We presented a strong defense during the preliminary hearing, highlighting the lack of direct evidence connecting our client to the package. We emphasized that our client was neither listed as the recipient nor involved in the parcel’s acceptance.
After reviewing the evidence and arguments, the judge determined that there was insufficient evidence to proceed with the charges. As a result, all charges against our client were dropped.
This outcome was particularly significant as our client had an ICE hold that could have resulted in his deportation had the charges not been dismissed.
The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
