I hear from clients, other attorneys in town, and lawyers looking to redesign their own website, “Great website!” And when it’s another lawyer, the next question is usually, “Who designed it?” or “Who’s handling your content and optimization?”
To help answer your questions, I am writing this blog post so you have some insight about how Worgul Law Firm evolved to its current state.
A Little History
I became licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania in 2004, though it wasn’t until 2008 that I went out on my own and started a private Pittsburgh criminal defense practice. At that time, it was named Michael V. Worgul, Esq., LLC. After practicing for three years, I had tried numerous marketing efforts, some which yielded results while others were unsuccessful.
I began working with Postali in October 2011 to send letters to defendants who were likely in the need of legal help. I experienced much better results with Postali than I had experienced in the past, even when those past efforts seemed similar. This was the start of what has become a great relationship.
In mid-2012, Postali began designing websites, developing content, and managing SEO efforts – about a year after we initially started working together. They let me know of some of their early successes and asked if I was ready to begin laying out a long-term marketing strategy that would include a new website and brand. Our relationship was growing and I was seeing results, but when it comes to my business, I am measured and cautious. At that time, it was too early to pull the trigger on a major multi-year marketing strategy, but we kept dialogue open and I was looking forward to seeing how things progressed for Postali’s website clients in other cities.
Near the end of 2013, the proof was evident, and I was ready to jump on board and lay out what I now look back on as the best business decision I’ve ever made. We negotiated and signed the agreement in December, setting a site launch date of April 1, 2014.
The Postali crew came to Pittsburgh for a two-day photo and video shoot. There must’ve been more than 50 people involved. It was a major production, from makeup and hair to actors, directors, and props. We spent two full days, but when it was finished, it left Postali with a large amount of visual collateral to design what has now become an award winning website.
