Probation for Federal Marijuana Trafficking Case
Our client was charged in Federal Court for allegedly trafficking 50+ kilos of marijuana. The federal trafficking charges and quantity of drugs involved brought a five-year mandatory minimum sentence.
Attorney Samir Sarna negotiated to remove the mandatory minimum sentence and advocate for a sentencing range of 12-18 months. At sentencing, however, the presiding judge considered the client’s strong work history amongst other factors and sentenced the individual to a three-year period of probation, keeping them from spending any time in jail.
The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
